Ours are not dyed at all - we blend white hair with naturally dark hair, in different proportions for each shade. Which salt and pepper shade should you choose?
This is the question we get asked most. Don't try to guess a percentage - you can't count your own gray hairs. Instead, stand in front of a mirror in daylight and look at where your gray actually is.

The 10-second photo test: take a photo of yourself in natural daylight, then look at it on your phone. If your gray is obvious in the photo without zooming in, choose Medium. If you have to look closely to find it, choose Dark.

Length: what curly textures actually do
Kinky curly hair does not hang at its stated length. On this texture the curls pull the hair up by about 4 inches. That is normal for curly human hair, and it is the single most common reason customers order the wrong size.

Cap types in this collection, easiest first
- Headband wigs - no lace, no glue, no leave-out. On in about 30 seconds. The headband is visible and you cannot part the hair.
- Wear and go glueless wigs - pre-cut lace and an elastic band. Natural hairline, no adhesive needed.
- V-part wigs - blends with a small section of your own hair for a natural part. You need some hair to leave out.
- Lace frontal wigs - exposed hairline and full styling freedom. Takes longer to apply and usually involves adhesive.
- Full lace wigs - part anywhere, including high ponytails. The most versatile and the most involved to apply.
If your edges are thinning or you have traction alopecia, stay with headband, V-part or wear-and-go styles. They put no tension on your hairline and nothing is glued to your skin.
Cap size and fit
Our standard cap measures 22.5 inches and includes a breathable elastic band and an adjustable drawstring, so you set the fit yourself. If you need a different size, custom caps are available in 21.5 inch petite and 23.5 inch large, or made to your own measurement, through our Customization Service.
To measure: wrap a soft tape around your head starting at your natural hairline, just above your ears, and around the nape of your neck.

Are salt and pepper wigs real human hair?
Every wig in this collection is 100% human hair with no synthetic fibers. The gray is blended at the strand level rather than dyed on, which is why it catches light the way real graying hair does. You can wash it, straighten it and curl it like your own hair.
Which shade is the most popular?
Medium Salt and Pepper. It suits the widest range of natural hair, and about 7 out of 10 customers choose it over the darker blend when both are offered on the same style.
Can I dye a salt and pepper wig to adjust the shade?
We do not recommend re-dyeing an already-colored wig, because a second dye process damages the hair and usually flattens the blend that makes it look natural. Choose the closest shade instead, and if you must adjust it, see a professional stylist.
How long will a salt and pepper wig last?
With regular wear and proper care, 8 to 12 months. Wash roughly every 7 to 10 wears using cool water and a sulfate-free shampoo, and air dry on a wig stand rather than brushing while dry.
Will gray hair look aging on me?
The blend matters more than the gray itself. A shade that matches how much gray you actually have reads as your own hair growing in, while a shade far lighter or darker than your natural pattern is what looks like a wig. That is the reason we make four blends instead of one.
