Is Standard Salt & Pepper your shade?

Yes, if: your gray is visible everywhere - the crown, the sides, the back and underneath - and someone describing your hair would say silver before they said dark.

Look darker, if: your gray is concentrated on top and your back and underside are still dark. Medium Salt & Pepper will sit closer to your real pattern.

Look lighter, if: your hair is close to fully silver or white with very little dark left. Light Salt & Pepper is the closer match.

The most common worry with this shade

"Is the contrast too stark?" High contrast is what makes this blend read as real hair rather than a flat gray wig, but it is also more visible than the other three. Two things soften it: choosing a texture with movement, such as water wave or a soft curl rather than sleek straight, and choosing a shorter length. A silver pixie or bob reads as deliberate and modern, where a very long high-contrast style draws more attention.

Good to know before you order

Curly textures shrink. Kinky curly and jerry curly hang about 4 inches shorter than the stated length, water wave about 2 inches shorter, and straight textures hang true to length. If you are between sizes on a curly style, order one length longer.

Cap fit. Our standard cap measures 22.5 inches with a breathable elastic band and adjustable drawstring, so you set the fit yourself. Custom sizes are available through our Customization Service.
